Monsoon Brings Widespread Rainfall Across Country, Heavy Showers Expected

Kathmandu: The monsoon system is currently active across Nepal, bringing cloudy skies and widespread rainfall, according to the Weather Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
The department reports that it is partly to generally cloudy throughout the country, with light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning occurring at several places in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at isolated spots in other provinces.
This afternoon, the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy, with light to moderate rain likely in hilly areas and scattered showers in other regions. The division has warned of heavy rainfall at one or two locations in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim.
Tonight, similar conditions will persist, with moderate to heavy rainfall forecasted in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces. High-hilly and mountainous areas may also experience light rain and snowfall.
Due to the risk of heavy rain, the department has urged the public to remain alert. It has specifically requested precautions to avoid potential health risks, agricultural damage, and disruptions to road and air transport.
The public is advised to monitor official weather updates and take safety measures during this monsoon activity, especially in flood- and landslide-prone areas.
